State of Finland's environment reviewed
Finland's greatest environmental challenges are to reduce fossil fuel consumption and to safeguard biodiversity, according to an official overview of the nation's environment from the Finnish environment institute. Gross pollution has been successfully tackled, the book suggests. There is a need for increased eco-efficiency. Rising waste volumes and traffic levels are "eliminating" environmental improvements and must be tackled. "Radical new goals" for the environment are needed, the book concludes. See press release.
