Swedes urged to keep separating waste
Sweden's environmental protection agency (EPA) and independent waste experts have insisted that recycling, not incineration, is the best option for managing virtually all municipal waste. The two interventions seek to counter arguments in favour of incineration made by a former EPA chief and another group of experts (EED 10/02/03). They both urge Swedish consumers to keep supporting source separation of waste as a basis for recycling. See English language versions of articles in Miljöaktuellt and Svenska Dagbladet, supplied by the Swedish EPA.
