Swedes pressed to name the day on Barsebäck
Denmark has urged Sweden to set a precise date for closure of its Barsebäck 2 nuclear reactor, Berlingske Tidende newspaper reports. The move follows a proposal in the Swedish parliament last month that shutdown be scheduled for next year (EED 20/03/03). Danish prime minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen said in parliament: "As recently as last autumn Sweden's prime minister Göran Persson reiterated that the aim was to have shutdown already this year... it is particularly disappointing that this goal was not achieved."
