Insulation makers call for EU standards
Insulating wool makers have called for EU standards for residential building insulation to be introduced, claiming it as a simple route to lower carbon dioxide emissions. Having already estimated that large energy savings are achievable through enhanced insulation (EED 20/02/03), trade association Eurima has now compared existing insulation standards and practice in different countries. Some - Belgium for instance - are found wanting. The EU's new directive on building energy performance will fail to harness the potential for improvements in the short term, Horst Biedermann of Eurima told ENDS Europe DAILY. See Eurima.
