EU waste recycling plan hits the streets
The European Commission has given interested parties until 30 November to contribute to an EU strategy on waste prevention and recycling, based on proposals in a communication released today. The final document is virtually identical to a draft reviewed by ENDS Europe DAILY yesterday (EED 26/05/03), though with significant revision to sections on a planned review of EU definitions of waste and of its disposal or recovery. A white paper on integrated product policy that was also due to appear today has been delayed until 11 June. See press release and the communication.
