Dutch environment ministers named
Christian Democrat politician Pieter van Geel was re-confirmed today as Dutch environment minister, as a new government was sworn in after four months of negotiations. He first took up the post last July (EED 25/07/02). Greenpeace criticised the continued lack of cabinet rank for the minister with specific responsibility for environmental protection, unlike that enjoyed by Mr van Geel's predecessor Jan Pronk.
