Italy boosts efforts to implement green laws
Italy's environment ministry and association of municipalities have signed a three-year deal to improve implementation of EU and national environmental legislation. Despite gaining increasing legislative and enforcement powers in recent years, local authorities often lack the resources or expertise to fulfil their responsibilities. The agreement enjoys an annual budget of €100,000. See press release and the agreement.
