Nordic Swan "too costly for service firms"
The price of participation in Scandinavia's Nordic Swan ecolabelling scheme is too high for many Danish service sector firms, Berlingske Tidende newspaper reported on Monday. The Danish chamber of commerce put costs at up to DKr250,000 (€33,500) per company, which spokesperson Mette Herget described as "exorbitant" for small and medium-sized firms. The Nordic ecolabelling secretariat said it was working on the problem, which arises from an anomaly in calculating the annual turnover of services as opposed to manufactured goods. See article.
