Danes get brominated chemicals escape route
Denmark's Information centre for environment and health has issued a list of household products containing little or no brominated flame retardants (BFR). The initiative is meant to help consumers to avoid the chemicals, the centre says. Its list includes products ranging from electronic goods to duvets and mattresses, sections on brands with no BFRs, brands at least not containing PBB and PBDE, and brands carrying ecolabels that limit BFR content. The list is the first of its kind in Europe, claimed project consultant Claus Jørgensen. See product list.
