UK advisors call for greener products body
Britain's advisory committee on consumer products and the environment (ACCPE) has urged the government to create a "dedicated products organisation" to champion product policy and drive its implementation forward. In a report, the committee credits the government with having taken "sensible decisions" in areas such as product information, but emphasises the need to move beyond concepts and frameworks to delivery. Its proposals build on an official UK strategy for sustainable consumption and production published last autumn (EED 26/09/03). See ACCPE third report.
