New Greek environment minister takes office

Greece's new government was sworn in on Wednesday, after the conservative New Democracy party, led by Costas Karamanlis, ousted the Socialists from power in elections held on Sunday. George Souflias replaces Vasso Papandreou at the head of the ministry for the environment, town planning and public works. He has two deputies, but details have yet to emerge on who will have lead responsibility for environmental policy.
