Swedes tackle green sanctions and permits
A committee charged with implementing and revising Sweden's ambitious "environmental code" has presented to environment minister Lena Sommestad proposals for new guidelines covering fines, sanctions and amended rules on licensing and permit procedures. Separately, the committee has suggested integrating existing planning and building appeals procedures into the operation of the code. A spokesperson told ENDS Europe DAILY that the aim was to target complications inherent in the coexistence of the two systems.
