Chemical firms pressed over animal testing
Europe's animal rights movement has called on the chemicals industry to do more to move away from animal-based testing of its substances. "At the very least chemical companies should allow their chemicals and existing test data to be used for validation studies so that non-animal tests can be approved more quickly," the European coalition to end animal experiments said. It also launched a report supporting the Reach chemicals reform but calling for radical changes to eliminate animal testing. See press release and report.
