Green MEP charts dilution of Reach reform
The EU's Reach chemical policy reform "is increasingly focusing on the safety of the chemicals industry rather than the safety of public health and the environment", Swedish Green MEP Inger Schörling complained on Tuesday. Ms Schörling was launching a book in which she describes how industries and governments managed to water down the European Commission's original proposals. The MEP said she hoped her book would stiffen the European parliament's resolve over Reach by explaining to new members the more ambitious original plans for Reach. See book details.
