F-gas substitution options compiled
Germany's environment agency has issued a wide-ranging technical evaluation of options for replacing climate-altering fluorinated gases (f-gases) across their major applications. The report is based on a joint workshop with German industry. It considers immediately available techniques and also future options arising from current research. Under a regulation currently under development the EU is planning to end some f-gas uses, but favours continued use with better containment for most (EED 31/03/04). See press release.
