Strong Norwegian electroscrap take-back
Norwegian industry last year collected 92,000 tonnes of its used electrical and electronic (EE) equipment, or 79% of the total, the national pollution control agency (SFT) reports. The figures will boost Norway's claim to be the world leader in taking back electroscrap (EED 12/06/02). The result is just one percentage point off the industry target for July 2004. However, the agency said it remained concerned at the volume of smaller consumer items, in particular toys and mobile phones, still not being collected. See press release.
