Czech industry demands clarity over packaging
Czech packaging producers have called on the environment ministry to at least consult them before finalising a fresh amendment to controversial rules who is responsible for the collection and recovery of packaging waste. A change in the law in March designed to bring Czech rules into line with the EU packaging directive has produced chaos, says association Syba. Under previous Czech rules it was clearly users who were responsible for packaging waste recovery. Now it is not clear whether it is users or producers. See Syba.
