In its latest annual report on the national greening government initiative, the parliamentary environmental audit committee highlighted "huge variations" in departmental performance and "weak" reporting by departments. Monitoring policy and awareness aspects "appear to have been abandoned", it claimed. The committee has criticised the same initiative in previous reports (EED 05/07/99), but generally not in such stark terms. See press release and report.
