Large companies picking up the CSR habit
A large majority of Europe's top firms now report on non-financial issues, according to a survey by two UK communications consultancies. According to Context and Salterbaxter, 44 of Europe's top 50 issued a corporate social responsibility (CSR) report in 2003/4, up from 40 the previous year. Twenty seven of the US top-50 issued a CSR report and 83 of the top-100 UK firms. The consultancies identify a lack of third party verification and low level of reporting on supply chain issues as continuing gaps. "Directions" is available free-of-charge from email@example.com.
