EU may ban dichlorobenzene in air fresheners

A consultancy report commissioned by the European Commission has recommended a ban on domestic uses of air fresheners and toilet deoderisers containing the chemical 1,4 dichlorobenzene. The commission will now consider whether to follow the advice.

ECHA launches consultation on 11 SVHC proposals

The European Chemicals Agency on Monday published proposals from Austria, Germany and the Netherlands for eleven new substances to be included on the list of substances of very high concern (SVHC). A public consultation on the proposals will run until 14 October.
