Search Tips

  • By default the search will match all of your terms, e.g. waste chemicals will return records which match both of these 2 words.
  • To search for items matching any of your terms use the OR operator, eg waste OR chemicals
  • To require a term in all matches, add the "+" sign to the beginning of the term, e.g. +waste chemicals will only return records that contain waste and which may also contain chemicals.
  • To exclude a term, add the "-" sign to the beginning of the term, e.g. waste -chemicals will return records containing waste but only if they do not contain chemicals.
  • You can also use AND and NOT to require or exclude terms, e.g. secondary AND chemicals, chemicals NOT mercury
  • To search for an exact phrase, use double-quotation marks "" around the phrase, e.g. "waste chemicals".
  • You can use asterisks [*] to match parts of words, e.g. chem* will match chemicals, chemist, chemistry etc.
  • Searching is case-insensitive unless your terms are in mixed-case, e.g. Bill will match fewer records than bill or BILL.
