EU launches climate emission trading survey
The European Commission has launched a opinion survey to help it prepare for an official review of the EU's carbon emission trading system due in a year's time. The survey is being carried out by consultancy McKinsey and was announced earlier this month (EED 03/06/05). Around five hundred stakeholders have been asked to give views on how the scheme is working, the implications of expanding it to cover more greenhouse gases and more industrial sectors, and impacts of climate trading on competitiveness. See Commission press release and survey.
