UK scientists suggest forests, soils, to become net carbon generators, accelerating global warming

* In a separate study also published in Nature today, another Hadley Centre researcher has raised further questions over the ability of new forests to lessen climate change, finding that trees can reduce the albedo - or reflectivity - of the land surface, so increasing heat absorption. In parts of Canada and Siberia, widespread replacement of snow with tree cover would actually increase warming rather than decrease it.Follow Up:
