Green procurement database on horizon

The European Commission has begun work on an information database to help public authorities wanting to buy environmentally-friendly supplies, stakeholders were told at an information meeting held by the Commission last month. The initiative is a follow-up to the Commission's "interpretative communication" on greening public procurement published in July (EED 05/07/01). Transcripts of the meeting, held to explain the objectives of the communication, are now on the web. See DG Environment public procurement pages.
