The EU has taken another step towards establishing a series of indicators to monitor the environmental impacts of agricultural policies. A new publication from the European environment agency outlines ways to integrate statistical and administrative data held by government agencies with land cover information collected by satellite. The report forms part of a drive to give policymakers higher quality information to enable the integration of environmental concerns into the common agricultural policy under the "Cardiff" process (EED 25/04/01).
