Norwegian MPs plan tour of Sellafield

Norway' parliamentary committee on energy and environment is to tour Britain's Sellafield nuclear plant, national news agency NTB reported today. Meanwhile, during parliamentary question time yesterday, prime minister Kjell Magne Bondevik confirmed that Norway had been in talks with Ireland to discuss legal actions against Sellafield. British environmentalists today launched their own lawsuit against the government's recent decision to allow operation of a new Mox fuel manufacturing plant. Irish MEP Nuala Ahern has complained to the European Commission over the decision, alleging that it constitutes illegal state aid. See NTB.
