The European Commission's environment directorate has issued its 2002 offer of co-financing for environmental initiatives. Having paid out nearly euros 8m in 2001 to support 74 projects, just euros 2.5m is on offer this year, to be split between 23 and 41 applicants. Applications have been invited in six main subject areas, mainly focused on international issues and raising public awareness. Three sub-themes relate to climate change issues. The deadline for applications is 30 April. See call for proposals.
