Greenpeace focuses on Europe's east

Greenpeace Austria has launched an "east European focus" aimed at highlighting environmental challenges in EU accession countries, in particular Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. The pressure group will establish new regional offices in the three countries. Key campaign issues will be chemicals, protection of water resources, nuclear power and renewable energy. The initiative is being launched ahead of the EU's expected enlargement by up to ten countries, now only two years away. See Greenpeace Austria.
