A UN-inspired programme intended to boost the use of life cycle analysis (LCA) to mitigate the impacts of consumption has received what a UN official described as a major boost with financial backing from an EU-level packaging industry body.
The Alliance for beverage cartons and the environment (Ace) is the second trade association and the sixth partner to join the Life cycle initiative (LCI). Other bodies already signed up as partners are the Swiss, Dutch and Quebec governments, the International council on mining and metals and Japan's National institute of advanced industrial science and technology
