Final texts of electroscrap laws released

The European parliament has circulated the finalised consolidated versions of two major EU laws to increase waste electrical and electronic equipment recycling and introduce substance controls in manufacture. The wording of the so-called WEEE and RoHS directives was agreed through conciliation earlier this month (EED 11/10/02). The legislation will be formally published once the texts have had final approval from both the parliament and EU governments. See conciliation joint texts on WEEE and RoHS.
