EU energy and environment indicators released

Data on EU energy use and subsequent environmental impacts between 1985 and 2000 have been released by the bloc's statistical bureau Eurostat. The 180-page document breaks down energy supply by fuel for both household and industry and details emissions by source. Greenhouse gas emissions are also calculated per capita and unit of GDP, while member states' energy intensity and consumption by fuel is listed for 1999. Annual publication of energy and energy-related indicators was agreed at a 1999 EU energy council meeting. See publication information.
