The Scottish executive released on Wednesday its first sustainable development strategy. The strategy commits to reducing Scotland's greenhouse gas emissions and ecological footprint and to contribute to the UN millennium goals. According to Scottish environment agency, the environment each year provides the country with ecosystem services worth UK£17bn (€25bn) of ecosystem services.
