Sweden's parliamentary industry committee has approved a proposal in the government's 2006 budget for a five-year investment support scheme for "environmentally friendly energy sources" (EED 20/9/05). In a vote on Friday, the committee agreed to allocation of SKr400m (€42m) a year, in the form of tax relief on 30% of householders' installation costs to replace direct electricity heating or oil heating with biofuel, solar power, heat pumps and/or district heating systems. See committee and budget summary (in English).
