Ministers formally adopt deal with USA for strengthened Energy Star energy efficiency labelling

EU ministers have formally adopted an agreement with the USA on renewing and strengthening the Energy Star voluntary energy efficiency labelling scheme for office equipment (EED 13/06/06). The European commission will now table an EU regulation implementing the agreement. Energy Star expired in June after running from 2001. The new agreement extends it for another five years.
