EU "highly unlikely" to meet biodiversity goal

This is the first assessment of measures taken so far under an EU action plan adopted in 2006 (EE 22/05/06). It shows that "enormous" efforts will be required in the next two years if Europe is "even to come close to achieving the biodiversity goal".
