EU awards €200m for nearly 200 new Life+ projects

The European Commission has approved 196 new projects for funding from the EU's environmental financing programme Life+. The projects were selected from a list of 600 applicants who applied for funding under the programme's second call for proposals for the period 2007-17.

The projects will receive a total of €207.5m. Eighty projects under Life+'s nature conservation scheme will share €107m. Projects in the two other categories – environmental policy and governance and information and communication – will get €90m and €21m respectively.
