Member states agree action on chemical cocktails

A committee of member states' representatives meeting in Brussels on Wednesday agreed a draft resolution calling on the European Commission to consider measures to address risks posed by potentially harmful combinations of chemicals.

The EU executive should report back to member states by early 2012, a spokesperson for the Swedish presidency told ENDS. An earlier draft called for a 2011 deadline. The text is expected to be approved by environment ministers on 22 December.
