EU food roundtable finalises footprinting tool

An environmental assessment tool developed specifically for the food industry will be finalised next year, members of the European Food Sustainable Consumption and Production Round Table were told at their annual meeting last week.

The roundtable was established by the food industry in 2009 and is co-chaired by the European Commission. As it is close to finishing its current work programme, its steering committee will also spend next year considering its future mandate.
