Testing proposals in 146 of 571 REACH registration dossiers analysed by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) have been given the green light.
The agency, which published the results of its analysis on Monday, looked at testing proposals included in dossiers registered by REACH’s November 2010 deadline for large volume chemicals. Tests on animals can be conducted to obtain missing information about the toxicity of a substance, but only as a last resort.
