EU develops EED implementation guidance

EU guidelines on the implementation of various aspects of the new Energy Efficiency Directive are expected to be finalised by June 2013

The European Commission has started drafting guidelines on the implementation of various aspects of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED). The guidelines are expected to be finalised by June 2013, according to sources.

The commission and member state experts met on Tuesday to discuss draft guidance dated 20 November on cogeneration (article 14). The document gives more detail on how to comply with the directive’s main requirements in this area.
