Seven chemicals added to REACH candidate list

The new substances of very high concern on the list include lead di(acetate), dihexyl phthalate, imidazoline-2-thione and trixylyl phosphate

Seven chemicals have been added to the REACH candidate list of substances of very high concern (SVHC). The list now contains 151 substances.

Four of the seven new substances on the list are toxic to reproduction: lead di(acetate), which is used in paints and coatings; the plasticiser dihexyl phthalate; imidazoline-2-thione, used to make rubber goods and tyres; and trixylyl phosphate, which is mainly used as a fire-resistant hydraulic fluid.
