MEPs have supported proposals to guarantee that a minimum share of the money in the EU’s investment fund is used to finance climate and energy efficiency projects.
“At least 40%” of the funding provided through the infrastructure and innovation line of the European fund for strategic investments (EFSI) should go to schemes advancing EU emission-reduction pledges under the Paris Agreement on climate, the European Parliament’s industry and energy (ITRE) committee said on Monday.
