EU industrial emissions disclosure ‘widely flouted’

Many regions and national governments are flouting EU rules on the public disclosure of permits granted to installations under the industrial Emissions Directive (IED), according to a report published on Thursday by the European Environmental Bureau (EEB).

Under Article 24 of the IED, competent national authorities are required to make public “including via the internet” details of all permitting decisions that fall within the scope of the law, including the relevant emission limit values.
