The EU has been criticised for failing to put its rhetoric on climate into action after it was ranked 21st out of 57 states with a score of just 57% in a new Climate Change Performance Index.

The 13th edition of the annual report compiled by 300 energy and climate experts for Germanwatch, New Climate Institute, and Climate Action Network, scored 56 countries and the EU as a whole on 14 indicators in 4 categories: GHG emissions, climate policy, energy use and renewable energy.
