The EU's Paris commitments and environmental standards could be threatened by Brexit, MEPs heard in a public hearing before the European Parliament’s environment committee.

There were "big question marks" over how the UK will meet its own GHG emission targets if it leaves the EU emissions trading system (ETS), professor Charlotte Burns of the University of Sheffield and a co-chair of Brexit and Environment said at the ENVI meeting on Tuesday.
