The EU’s highest court has heard allegations that the Polish environment minister failed to make a legally required assessment before approving increased logging operations in Europe’s oldest forest.

The action against the Polish government, brought by the European Commission following a complaint by six NGOs, opened in the Court of Justice on Tuesday.
