The European Commission must bring its transport emission targets into line with the temperature thresholds outlined in the Paris Climate Agreement, according to a report backed by the European Parliament on Wednesday.

The 'own-initiative report', which was authored by Greens/EFA rapporteur Bas Eickhout, said the Commission needs to set out ambitious CO2 targets for road transport for 2025 as well as a separate sales target for zero emission vehicles.
