ECHA unveils details of new hazardous waste database

Suppliers of products containing substances of very high concern (SVHCs) will have to provide information for a new Europe-wide database from January 2021, under plans unveiled by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

The EU agency set out on Monday guidelines on the information it will require from suppliers for a new database of “substances of concern in articles as such or in complex products”, dubbed SCIP, which will be trialled early next year before a full version is up and running.
