Planned revision of existing regulations on environmental data "seriously flawed" says NGO

Proposals to strengthen Scottish rules on access to environmental information were presented to the country's parliament yesterday.

The revision is part of a wider UK push towards comprehensive freedom of information legislation. It prepares the way for ratification of the Århus convention on public participation in environmental decision-making and access to environmental information (EED 25/06/98) as well as transposition of forthcoming EU rules (EED 03/07/00).
