EU green ministers prepare to debate GMOs

Third formal environment council meeting of 2001 to see GM talks, deals on five new laws

EU environment ministers meet in Luxembourg on Monday for their third regular meeting of the year and the first under the Belgian presidency. The highlight of an unusually long agenda will be a public debate on recent European Commission proposals for harmonised EU traceability and labelling of genetically modified crops and foods.
